Monday is when it starts!

Things get super busy at the end of the school year. I was able to get my asthma under control and we have a prevention plan in place that will hopefully work. The inflammation appears to have decreased significantly. We made it through the last day of school and I cleaned up my classroom and checked out for the summer. I went home and collapsed and attempted to recover and get ready to head north to see the family. I split my trip in half so I could go visit a friend for a couple of days!  I made it north in time to help dad celebrate Father's Day not with a Hot Dog but a delicious Hamburger. Then Monday came...

Monday... the day Garfield sticks his head back under his blanket for.

I decided I would not make any changes till after school was out. I am quitting soda AGAIN. Not caffeine but soda! I started when I'd gotten sick at my last job to keep myself going and once it sticks...it sticks. I've done it before long term and I can do it again. I just cannot give in and start again. So Monday didn't go to badly, then the headaches started. I'm drinking caffeinated tea, but the headaches are still present. I know if I can maintain for a couple of more days I will be past the headache part. In the meantime I am a bit cranky. Hopefully, tomorrow will be better. I wish I liked coffee....

Yep! I'm a grumpy wimp!

I find myself feeling a little emotional tonight. It has been too long since I could breath properly. I feel the relief given from my medication. I am going to be able to get on top of what I need to do this last week of school. It is a relief in so many ways. I was getting to the point I could see how anything would get better. It was frustrating and discouraging. I didn't feel like anyone "got it".  I feel  like I finally saw the right doctor at the right time. We made a plan together. A plan for prevention and a plan for what to do when my symptoms flare. I am on some medication more long term that will help to reduce the inflammation going on in my lungs. The problem with that at first, was that it was so tight in there it wasn't getting to where it needed to go. I have to change some things up to help myself recover and not get this bad again.

When I think of people fighting disease on a daily basis, hourly basis, I hurt for them. Illness like that you do not get reprieve from. It is always there and always on your mind. I turn into a grumpy wimp. They are so tough to fight that every day. I admire their determination.

Not too many strong feelings about this fad! Just keep them at home and give your kid a jump rope it spins too!
