Was there ever a Spring Break needed more than this Spring Break? I don't think so... last year Spring Break never happened. No change of pace or change of scenery. This year... it happened. Today is cooking day. I have a pot of beef stew on the stove. Whenever I start making this recipe I ask myself WHY??? throughout the cooking process. It seems to take all day. Then, I taste the end result. It never dissapoints, it always comes out perfect! I started my morning with picking up groceries to begin cooking. What did they forget, the CARROTS. Good Grief, so I had to leave mom watching the pot while I ran to the store for carrots. This recipe also calls for red wine. I had to call an asssistant to open the bottle for me, the cork REFUSED to give. Then my red wine choice was criticized. It doesn't matter in the end because it isn't used for its flavor properties, but its cooking properties. I started this at 9 in the morning and about 2 today I should have the final product. Meanwhile, it smells delicious over here.
I heard rumor of more students coming back from "homeshooling" after the break. I have 26 students and I'm not really sure where I could put another desk. The suggestion was that we remove our teacher desk. Um.... you realize we have work to do correct??? Sigh... I'll leave that headache for another day.
I was able to see my Granny, I am supposing for the last time. We've watched her grow more and more fragile. I can only think how lucky I've been to have her for so long.
Well I must go stir the pot and throw a frisbee, the dog feels he has been patient long enough.
